From Sep. 24th to 30th, I travelled around Sapporo and the Tokachi Plain. The main purpose was to attend the events for the 150th anniversary of my old school. I was very lucky enough not to encounter bad weather, almost all days were brisk and beautiful autumn days. Some of my old friends from the school kindly reserved to meet me, I was able to absorb the atmosphere at the classroom at the department’s alumni’s event, fully enjoyed the solemn ceremony at a gorgeous venue, wandered around the wide campus for more than 20,000 steps a day, and drove around the vast plains where wide farms and ranch lands spread.
The tour became one of my most impressive memories in my life.

9月24日から30日にかけて、札幌と十勝平原を巡る旅をしました。主な目的は、母校の創立150周年記念行事に出席することでした。幸運にも悪天候に見舞われることはなく、滞在中はほぼ連日、爽やかで美しい秋晴れに恵まれました。旧友たちと再会し、学科の同窓会イベントでかつての教室の雰囲気を味わったり、豪華な会場での厳かな式典を堪能したりしました。また、広大なキャンパスを1日2万歩以上も歩き回ったり、農場や牧草地がどこまでも広がる十勝平野を車でドライブしたりもしました。
この旅は、私の人生において最も心に残る思い出の一つとなりました。

Meats and vegetables grown in the wide plain are definitely the first grade. Say, for example, Yakitori (grilled chicken on the stick) is soft and juicy, so tasteful!
