Re: Small Hiking Tour from Dogi-yama Fortress to Shinmei-yama, the Front-line of Hideyoshi’s Side

This year’s NHK annual drama “BROTHERS IN ARMS” is now broadcast, and the next story (No.15) is scheduled about the Battle of Ane river in 1570. The stage has moved into our hometown area, KOHOKU. There is some time up to the Battle of Shizugatake (1583), but once the story is on air, the actual battle fields may gain popularity with many historical dram fans.
Since I am not fond of crowds and hot weather, I had a small hiking yesterday around the remains of fortress when the battle was fought. The battle is said to have started on June 10 (New calendar) and ended in a few days, but they must have had a hard time to build the bases in the mountains from early spring, when it was still very cold. And I wonder how they carried the tons of material, including their daily foods, and how they protected themselves from the night dews. (I can’t endure such a harsh environment even for a day (;´Д`) )
The wind from the northwest was so refreshing when I walked on the ridge from Dogi-yama to Shin-mei yama. (^^♪
