Re: Do you think which photo is higher quality between the one taken by Sony’s α6400 and by iPhone (Series 13) ?

I don’t have much knowledge about a camera, little more than just an amateur.
About one year ago, I bought a new camera of Sony’s SLR, but I’ve always thought that the photo quality may be inferior to my iPhone’s. This must be of course due to my poor camera technique, I’ve known it very well. But, I’ve always wondered what the attached zoomer (a zoom lens) is for? Is it for taking a photo of small object, such as insects? Can I use it for taking a higher resolution (or quality) snap photo than usual? If so, I thought that I should use the zoomer for taking group shots of my clients when I make a tour guiding.
I did the proving test a year ago, when I didn’t use the zoomer. I still remember that the winner then was apparently iPhone’s.
So, I did the similar experiment again today, in order to confirm the function of the zoomer this time. I still can’t say which one is better, but I’ve known that the zoomer may be used for my present purpose, too.
Anyone advise me in what case we should use it? And what is the purpose?

私はカメラについてあまり知識がなく、アマチュア程度です。

約 1 年前に Sony の一眼レフカメラを新しく購入したのですが、どうも携帯電話（iPhone）で撮ったものよりも写真の画質が劣るのではないかとずっと思っていました。それはもちろん私のカメラの技術が下手なせいであることはよくわかっています。でも、付属のズームレンズは何のためにあるのかずっと疑問に思っていました。昆虫などの小さなものを撮影するためなのでしょうか? あるいは、より高解像度 (または高画質) のスナップ写真を撮るために使用するためのものでしょうか？もしそうであるならば、私がツアーガイドをするときにお客様の集合写真等を撮影するためにこのズームレンズを使用すれば喜んでいただけるのではないかと思いました。

実は、ちょうど1 年前のことではありますが、このズームレンズを使わずに実証テストを行ったことがあります。その時はどうも iPhone が勝っていたことを今でも覚えています。
そこで、ズームレンズの機能を確認するために、今日も同じような実験をしました。（携帯電話写真と較べて）どちらが優れているかはまだわかりませんが、ズームレンズは私の現在の目的にも使用できることがわかりました。

どなたか、カメラに詳しい方、一体どのような場合にこのズームレンズを使用するべきなのかをアドバイスいただけませんか? また、その目的は一体何でしょうか？
