Re: Power Writing in English

By taking advantage of a rainy day today, I’ve continued to read the book to the end at my study, including listening to the CD that is attached to this book.

Five years have passed since I made a small website for inbound tourists. All the contents such as recommendable tours, my self-introduction, reviews from the customers, and my blogs are written in the international language, English. I know it very well that my writing skill is so poor that readers who happen to find the site may be disappointing to touch it. So, I’ve lately tried to check if the sentences are understandable through a translation software such as Google Translate, after I create the article in English. I’m often surprised to know that the result of the translation has become so natural and understandable thanks to the rapid growth of AI. Believe it or not, the quality of English to Japanese translation sometimes seems to exceed what I wanted to tell, making consideration for better expressions and for adding nifty things. (I have to think it’s too meddlesome…don’t try to help me anymore ( ^)o(^ ) )

Spoken language and written one are somewhat different with each other, of course there are common expressions in both, too. After reading the book, I feel that I can catch the important point in order to improve my low-level verbal ability. That is, to try to use the common phrases as many as I can when I try to communicate with native speakers. That must make the world of my spoken language much colorful, reasonable and impressive. Some examples
cited from the book are:
・can’t tell for sure…
・This is more than likely…
・On top of that…
・I have my doubts as to whether…
・It sounds like…
・It’s pretty safe to say…
・There’s no question that…

I took out this informative book from the city library.

PS
May I add that almost all my posts on FB are the same as I blog about on my Webpage.
