Re: Exercise is a Real Polypill(運動は真の万能薬)

[In English]

The subject is cited from a professor’s words of Faculty of Sport and Health Science, Ritsumeikan University. I believe this is true, from what I’ve often seen or heard when I met people, especially aged in my hometown. So, I was very lucky to happen to find a flyer about applicants who want to join the research by the faculty.
The research objectives are;
1) To propose “well-being” for aged people in the aspects of psychology, cognition and physical condition
2) To propose for creating cooperatively healthy living environment, based upon the people’s curiosity, interest and feeling

The menu is as follows;
1) Questionnaire about illness in the past, daily habit of food and exercise
2) Questionnaire about mental health
3) Questionnaire about daily life’s activity from the aspect of means, intelligence and social concern
4)Actual measurement of body composition, including blood-sugar level
5) Actual measurement of motor function
6) Amount of physical activity for 7 days (by wearable meters)
7) Variation of automatic nerve when being interviewed
8) Test of oral function
9) Test of cognition
10) Test of taste
11) Visual-motor coordination
These tests were conducted by help of graduate students who have the qualification

We already finished the first test, but the second one will be held in next spring. They say that similar test will be repeated in 2023 too, as the 2nd term.

So far, I’ve been continuing a light workout, such as a radio gymnastics in the morning and walking in the afternoon for these 5 years after my retirement. What feedback shall I get from the “cohort follow-up study”? I’m looking forward to hearing from the organizer, “Yoshi, you don’t have any mental and physical problems at all. You are much younger than your actual age!” (^^♪
