I happened to find the deadline of my passport will be soon yesterday.
I felt very pressed, since I thought I have to apply it immediately. (*´Д｀);;;
Then, I found that we can renew it by using “My number card”, i.e., through the Social Security and Tax Number System. So, I tried. But, it became a “nightmare” for this slow and old boy. On the way, I really felt that must be much comfortable to go to a passport center directly. The reason was the following.
1) Uploading a face photo on the system is so strict, though I had the picture taken at a photo studio. Maybe my face was not so handsome…
2) I was rejected many times when I took the procedure with the existing passport. That was my fault. I should have used “My number card” instead. (We had to take a very similar procedure, sometimes with passport and sometimes with the card….. The slow old man was unable to follow…
3) When I was requested to enter the “security code”, I was rejected several times again. The code was not the one that I entered when I renewed it but another one that is written on the card.
4) When I was requested to enter the deadline of the card, I was rejected several times again, too. That was my fault, again. I had entered the deadline for the electronic authentication. I thought many might make the same error as I did, since it’s very confusing.
I seemed to be able to complete, spending 3 hours. I wonder what percentage of people, especially an old boy like me can take the procedure smoothly. (Only I ???)
PS: Once you succeed it, however, I think the on-line renewal is surely a effortless way….

タイトル：オンラインでのパスポート更新
昨日、パスポートの有効期限が近いことに気づきました。すぐに申請しないといけないと思い、とても焦りました。 (*´Д｀);;;
幸いにも、「マイナンバーカード」、つまり社会保障番号・納税者番号システムを通して更新できることを知りました。早速試してみたのですが、こののろまなオヤジにとっては「悪夢」でした。途中で、「パスポートセンターに直接行った方がずっと楽だったんではないか」などと痛感しました。理由は以下の通りです。
1) システムに顔写真をアップロードするのがとても厳しかったようです。写真スタジオで撮った写真なのに。。。。もしかしたら私の顔がイケメンじゃなかったのがその理由かもしれません…。
2) 既存のパスポートを用いて手続きをした時にも何度も却下されました。これは私のミスでした。「マイナンバーカード」を使うべきでした。 （私たちは非常に似たような手続きを何度も行わなければなりませんでした。パスポートを使う場合もあれば、カードを使う場合もありました。鈍いオヤジはとてもついていけませんでした…）
3）「セキュリティコード」の入力を求められた際、またしても何度も拒否されました。登録・更新時に入力したコードではなく、カードに記載されている別のコードだったのです。
4）カードの有効期限の入力を求められた際も、またまた何度も拒否されました。これも私のミスでした。電子認証の有効期限を入力してしまっていたのです。
非常に分かりにくいので、私と同じ間違いをする人も多いのではないかと思いました。
3時間かけてなんとか手続きを完了できたようですが、私のようなオヤジのうちスムーズに手続きをこなせる人は一体どれくらいいるのでしょうか？ ボクだけだったりして…. ^_^;;;
追伸：ただし、一度手続きが完了すればオンラインでの更新は間違いなく楽な方法だと思います…。
