Re: En-nichi fair day (縁日)

One of the most exciting days in our summer holidays was the summer fair day “En-nichi”, which was a kind of a festival when people have a spiritual connection with Buddhist deity. I went out for the hustle and bustle at the temple town in order to recall the good old days. Many street stalls were open along the approach, and a lot of young boys and girls were enjoying foods such as shaved ice, fried chickens, and grilled skewered beef.
Others were playing games such as shooting cork bullets at targets and goldfish scooping. It was murderously hottest day, all sweated a lot like a horse, but they all seemed to be spending the most pleasant time during their holidays with their friends, their parents and their grandmoms. Nothing has changed at all from our childhood.
